Today David Slept - I could probably end there but that wouldn't let you know of some good things happening.
Today Catherine, Lynnette, and I went to Ocean City, MD for the Thunderbird air show. Catherine's cousin, David Lemery, got us VIP tickets and we spent time in the Penthouse with Miss Maryland and many others who we obviously did not know. We went to David Lemery's room and he immediately showed us a photograph of the bottom landing gear flap with David Lyon's name written on it. Lt. Col. Greg Thomas, the current Squadron Commander/Leader and Thunderbird No. 1., who is the one leading all the flying formations of the Thunderbirds, at the current time, flew as a tribute to David. We were also informed that he is carrying the American Flag on this entire tour and will dedicate the flag and David will receive it. So, so many incredible individuals who genuinely care.
This morning, walking to the hospital, a construction worker stopped me on the sidewalk and asked me why I was here. After telling him he made sure I told David, and all my sons in the military, Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!
The skin flap is still very healthy with great blood flow and color. They will watch it very carefully for at least 3 days. I was concerned that the pulse they were listening to was the pulse we all check when we feel our wrist, so his nurse took the time to have us listen to each vein and artery so we could hear the difference.
David is drinking fine and even had an "Ensure" drink tonight. The Ensure, he said, "Tasted like Poo!", but he drank it like a trooper.
It was a great day and we're glad!

Love to All,

Gordon
